Eating & Body Image Disorders

Eating & Body Image Disorders

Eating disorders, like behaviors, come in many forms, and no two clients are alike.  We treat individuals who are suffering and want change.  Eating disorders involve extreme attitudes, behaviors, and emotions about food and body weight. CARE’s comprehensive and multidisciplinary team, made up of psychologists, therapists and dieticians, understands the importance of connecting feelings, thoughts, and actions, and customize treatment to client’s specific needs for the best possible chance at recovery.

Through Applied Behavior Analysis, clinicians are able to formulate a treatment plan to client’s behaviors associated with eating disorders, such as:

  • Emotional responses to food
  • Eating patterns
  • Behavior associated with food, eating, and body image

Collaboratively, we address the following eating disorders, however, not limited to:

  • Anorexia
  • Bulimia
  • Binge Eating Disorder
  • Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
  • Dual-Diagnosis
  • Other Unspecified Eating Disorders

CARE offers Weight Balance & Nutrition Counseling

  • Body Image reflects how an individual sees their form and shape, either positive or negative, on experiences of their body as children and adults, as well as social attitudes and cultural ideas. Negative body image and distortions most often play a great role in eating disorders. Repairing the relationship with their body is crucial to healing eating disorders.
