Young Adults Day Program

CARE’s day program serves the diverse needs of young adults with developmental, behavioral, and physical challenges in a space that is safe, caring, and supportive. Our goal is to assist young adults reach their fullest potential for personal growth, independence, and life fulfilment.

The part-time and full-time program is available on a six to ten-week cycle. The curriculum addresses behavior management, emotional development, personal self-care, skill-building, prevocational and vocational development.

The courses provide instruction and support to meet the challenges of:

  • Relationships (working as a team member, dating, friendships, sexual behavior)
  • Prevocational skills (responding to instructions, interviewing, staying on task)
  • Vocational development for meeting employment goals, resume development, and volunteering opportunities
  • Communication (making requests, communicating personal needs and desires, and teaching advanced conversation skills)
  • Interpersonal skills (listening, problem-solving, decision-making, and assertiveness)
    • Self-management (coping strategies, stress reduction, and overcoming anxiety)
    • How to navigate and find safe harbor through life’s many challenges
